Games of Logic & Puzzles Designer turned Mystery Author

Coffee & Convo welcomes Eric Keith, author of the mystery novel Nine Man’s Murder.

Eric, tell us a little bit about Nine Man’s Murder.

Nine graduates of a detective training school arrive at a mountaintop resort for what they believe is a “class reunion.”  But when they find their host dead in a closet, they soon learn that the “reunion” is in fact a deadly game of “Nine Man’s Murder.”  One by one they are murdered; and a blown-up bridge leaves them at the mercy of an ingenious murderer—who, they soon realize, is one of them.  Can they deduce his or her identity—and stop this psychopath—before the killer wins this deadly game?  And who’s going to pay to dry-clean the corpse?

What do you think readers will enjoy most about Nine Man’s Murder?

Well, it’s pretty suspenseful waiting to see who’s going to be the next victim, and what method the murderer will use.  For those who enjoy a real challenge, two of the murders are locked room murders and a third is also “impossible.”  But most of all, I think readers will enjoy being shocked by the ending.

Where can we find Nine Man’s Murder?

Tell us a little about yourself.

Well, before trying my hand at writing, I tried my foot, but I kept getting athlete’s pen.  Before that, I was the puzzle designer for a company that sold original games and puzzles of logical deduction.  Then I got married, and that was the end of logic, though not of puzzles.

Is this your debut novel?

Yes, and hopefully not final novel.

Any future writing plans you wish to share with us?

You will find many more mysteries and thrillers from me in the future, as well as books in other genres.  So this would be a good time to move to another planet.

I just moved into a new house, Eric. I don’t plan on moving again for a while and I do look forward to more of your novels. Thank you so much for sharing with us today.
